In accordance with Swiss Federal Guidelines

                                                                      

Effective May 11, 2020

 

Pre-school Supplement to Ahead With English Hygiene and Social Distancing Guidelines – For All Classes to be observed to the best of our ability while maintaining a safe and happy pre-school environment. 

 

  • Teachers are the only adults allowed into the entrance and pre-school room whilst pre-school is in progress.  Exception: Pre-school parents bringing their child at the start of Pre-school (see below).

 

  • All adults must maintain a 2m distance between each other; families must keep a 2m distance from other families.

 

  • Teachers will try to maintain social distance from children where possible but with young children it is understood that this is not always possible. Masks will be available for teachers to wear but are not compulsory. Please prepare your child that teachers may wear masks.

 

  • ARRIVAL. On arrival, one parent at a time can bring the child into school hallway. They will be met by the teacher, maintaining social distance, and child can enter the classroom. Please wait outside if there is another parent/child already in the hallway. Please keep a 2m distance from other families. Do not block the entrance.

 

  • When in the building, please encourage your child to enter quickly, especially if other families are waiting to come in. If your child is distressed or reluctant to enter the classroom, please step out and try again when it is safe to do so. If your child will not settle, please to try another day. Parents cannot stay with their child in the school.

 

  • When entering the building all persons must use hand sanitizer or wash their hands. Paper towels will be used and disposed of.

 

  • LEAVING. At the end of pre-school, please wait outside the school 2m apart, and teachers will bring the children out to you. 

 

  • If you need to pick up your child early, or are running late, please contact the teacher directly. See teacher contact details on page 2.

 

  • Do not bring slippers. There will be no changing of shoes. Jackets and bags will be kept on a chair or peg in the classroom to minimize use of the hallway. Keep spare clothing in the child’s rucksack.

 

  • Do not bring toys from home.

 

  • Please give a small snack and drink as before. Tables and hands will be washed before and after eating. There will be no sharing of snacks. We will not hand out cups/plates/utensils. If these are needed, we will use disposable items.

 

  • Teachers will bring their own cups/mugs for tea & coffee and take them home after class.

 

  • THERE MUST BE NO DROPPING OFF OR PICKING UP OF CHILDREN IN A CAR OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL ENTRANCE.

 

 

  • Pre-school Daily Routine

 

  • We will try to keep the daily routine as normal and fun as before.

  • Toys will be separated for each session. Any toys and materials used will be cleaned after use.

  • Hands will be washed regularly as before.

  • We will go out for short walks. In accordance with guidelines, we will use caution when at the playground if it is busy. 

 

At the end of every pre-school session, surfaces will be cleaned including tables, chairs, door handles and window handles. At the end of every morning the classroom windows will be opened for at least 10 minutes and when possible kept open during the morning.

 

There will be regular cleaning of the school toilets, washing areas and any machines used such as photocopiers.  Bins will be emptied at the end of every school day.

 

Hand sanitisers and masks will be available at the school. The use of masks is not compulsory.

In accordance with Swiss Federal Guidelines 

                                                                     

Effective May 11, 2020

 

We will try to keep our class routines as normal, educational, and fun as before.

 

GENERAL

  • Please inform the school if:

  • you or your child are in a vulnerable Covid 19 “at risk” category and cannot attend classes,

  • if any member of your family is displaying Covid 19 symptoms – such as coughing, sore throat, headache, or fever,

  • if any member of your family tests positive for Covid 19 – and tell us when you were last in school and in which classroom.

 

  • Please stay at home if you or your children display Covid 19 symptoms.

 

  • All adults, including teachers, must maintain a 2m distance between each other; families must keep a 2m distance from other families.

 

  • When entering the building all persons must use hand sanitizer or wash their hands. Paper towels will be used and disposed of by the school.

 

  • The only adults allowed into the school building whilst school is in progress are teachers.

 

  • Teacher will try to maintain social distance from children where possible.  Masks will be available for teachers to wear but are not compulsory. Please prepare your children that teachers may wear masks.

ARRIVAL

  • Parents are asked to bring their child to the school’s outer entrance where only the children will be allowed in.

 

  • Please wait outside the school on the pavement keeping a 2m distance from other families until you can come in. Please don’t block the entrance.

 

  • A teacher will greet the children from the doorway of the inner entrance and the children can enter, wash their hands and go directly to their classroom.

 

  • There will be no changing of shoes.  Jackets and school bags should be kept on the child’s chair or on pegs provided in the classroom.

 

  • There will be no use of the hallway.

 

IN SCHOOL

  • Some classes may go out for short walks during the break.  In accordance with guidelines, we will use caution when at the playground if it is busy, and everyone will wash their hands before and after break.

 

  • Children should bring their own pencils, crayons and erasers, and take them home with them – a labeled pencil case is advised.

 

  • Please give a small snack and drink as before.  Tables and hands will be washed before and after eating. There will be no sharing of snacks. We will not hand out cups/plates/utensils. If these are needed, we will use disposable items.  There will be disposable cups when water is needed.

 

  • Teachers will bring their own cups/mugs for tea & coffee and take them home after class.

 

  • Staplers, hole punchers, scissors, ect will be used by teachers and cleaned after each lesson. Toys, games, and puzzles will also be cleaned after use.

 

  • At the end of every class, surfaces will be cleaned including tables, chairs, and door and window handles.  Windows will be opened at the end of class for at least 10 minutes, and when possible, kept open during class.

 

LEAVING

  • At the end of every class each child must leave the school as quickly and safely as possible and must not wait for a sibling within the school.

 

  • Parents must wait for their children outside the school or in their cars at the car park – please let the teachers know where you will pick them up.

 

  • Please do not be late picking up your children in case there are other classes following.

 

  • Please allow for 2m between families when waiting outside on the pavement.
