Pre-school Program

We offer a structured, fun and nurturing learning environment for children from 3 - 5 years of age with an emphasis on developing the confident use of English.

We have small groups, with a maximum of 10 children
English is spoken at all times
An experienced teacher and an assistant are present for all sessions
We have well-equipped pre-school facilities
We take the children to a sunny playground close by, weather permitting
We have a structured pre-school morning with a clear routine
We offer the possibility to continue at Ahead With English with our program of English classes for the over fives

Our Educational Goals

We aim to provide a friendly and stimulating environment where children learn through play, experience and conversation. Our program includes:

fostering social skills to ensure a smooth transition from home to pre-school
drama and role-play
learning about the world around us by going on walks and outings
varied activities to investigate themes such as shapes and numbers
music, including singing, movement, action games and rhymes
pre-math, pre-reading and pre-writing activities

Pre-school Program Times and Dates

Tuesday 8:30 - 11:30, Wednesday 8:30 - 11:30, Thursday 8:30 - 11:30 and Friday 8:30 - 11:30

One or more sessions may be attended. We recommend however, that children who do not speak English at home attend at least two sessions.

We follow the Swiss school schedule for Baselland.

Requirements

Children should bring a healthy snack and a pair of indoor shoes. They should wear clothing appropriate for indoor and outdoor play.

We accept fully toilet-trained children.
